MUSEUM PARTNERS Canadian Ski Museum, Ottawa, Canada The Canadian Ski Museum strives to promote an understanding, appreciation and celebration of Canada's skiing/snowboarding traditions and accomplishments, and their significance to Canadian life and identity. Contained within the Canadian Ski Museum is the history of skiing in Canada. It is a record of people, their stories, activities, achievements and a wealth of fascinating artifacts. History is a continuum, the past unfolds and as it does, the CSMus will continue to record it, to collect the stories and memorabilia accompanying them. Opened in the early 1970s, the Museum is dedicated to the preservation of skiing history for future generations, to honouring the pioneers and those who make history, and to inform and educate about Canada’s skiing heritage. Through educational displays and research, the Museum continues to document
the profound influence that skiing exerts on Canadian history and culture.
The Canadian Ski Museum is a registered Canadian charity (#119219913R0001)

and Mammoth Lakes Foundation, Mammoth Lakes, California The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum is located in Ishpeming, Michigan near the shores of Lake Superior. A century ago a group of local businessmen and skiing enthusiasts took the first steps to organize the National Skiing Association thus earning for Ishpeming the distinction of being the birthplace of organized skiing in the United States. It is appropriate that the US National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame should be located in Ishpeming. Visit the Hall of Fame and Museum at skihall.com New England Ski Museum, North Conway, New Hampshire It is the goal of the New England Ski Museum to collect, preserve, and exhibit elements from the broad spectrum of ski history, particularly in New England, for the purposes of research, education, and entertainment. Specifically: to collect and preserve examples of ski equipment, clothing, art, and ephemera; to preserve, through proper storage and reproduction, the early photographic records of skiing, both in motion pictures and stills; to create a reference library of ski literature, including books, periodicals, and manuscripts; to collect and preserve memorabilia of the 10th Mountain Division ski troops; to create an oral history library of New England ski pioneers; to prepare exhibits for the education and entertainment of the public regarding the history of skiing and its integration with New England's social and economic development; and to perform a continuing outreach program in the community. The Ski Museum of Maine, Kingfield, Maine Maine is very rich in ski history, yet many people do not realize it nor recognize the place this history holds within the American ski world. Because of this, many of those who have valued the special spirit our sport entails are concerned this history will be lost. It is this concern which motivated the founders of the Ski Museum of Maine to organize. Established with the mission to “preserve and publicize the business of skiing in Maine, while celebrating Maine’s ski history and heritage,” the board of directors has undertaken a number of projects to identify and preserve our skiing heritage and to share this heritage with the younger generations. The formation of the Maine Ski Hall of Fame is an exciting outcome of this effort. Preserving and publicizing the business of skiing in Maine, while celebrating Maine's skiing history and heritage.
