OLD RACING SKIS... a poem:)

[Will]

Made of wood with cable bindings
long outdated technology
they sit now on display in some museum
or in attics in dusty storage

Old racing skis once riding fast
counting seconds off snowy slopes
and some held high overhead afterwards
sharing in a moment of ski racing glory

Though now those who rode them have moved on
and new ski technology have taken their place
but each season especially around Olympic time
they cry out for another chance.
