April 28, 2005 Colorado Ski Museum receives challenge grant Museum
seeks $25,000 in matching gifts; Vail, April 28, 2005 - An anonymous donor has offered a $25,000 challenge grant to advance the work of the Colorado Ski Museum. The Museum has been asked to raise another $25,000 by July 1, 2005 in order to qualify for the full award. The Museum is currently searching for a new Executive Director. "It would be wonderful to begin a new era in the Museum's management with an enthusiastic statement of support from its members and friends in the Colorado snowsports community," said the challenge grant donor. Concurrently, the Museum has been given a $5000 grant by Colorado Ski Country USA, the not-for-profit trade association representing the state's ski areas since 1963. "It's a wonderful gift, and I'm hopeful that the combination of the two grants will give the Museum a welcome boost during this transition," the challenge donor said. "Our volunteers, staff and board are gratified and delighted by these two grants," noted David Gorsuch, chairman of the board of the Colorado Ski Museum and Colorado Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame. "The challenge grant means that each community donation doubles its power toward assuring the success of the Museum's mission." Friends of the Museum are asked to send qualifying donations to Matching Grant The Colorado Ski Museum/Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame was established in 1976.
